What We Offer

Umpqua Wonders Academy provides high-quality child care and preschool for ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our program centers on warm, responsive relationships between children and caregivers, and on peer-to-peer connections that nurture social and emotional growth. Through intentional interactions, small-group activities, and developmentally appropriate routines, children learn to identify and express feelings, practice empathy, share, and resolve conflicts—skills that build the foundation for healthy relationships and success in kindergarten.

We design experiences that celebrate each child’s individuality. Teachers observe each child’s strengths and interests, then use those insights to tailor activities that boost curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Children are encouraged to try new things, make choices, and solve problems, which fosters independence and self-assurance as they prepare for the transition to school.

Our environment is safe, engaging, and inclusive. Play-based learning, structured circle times, sensory exploration, and guided social activities promote cognitive, language, motor, and emotional development. Care plans for infants and toddlers prioritize secure attachments and responsive caregiving, while preschoolers receive focused support for early literacy, numeracy, and readiness skills—always presented in ways that honor each child’s pace and personality.

We believe every child is beautiful and unique. Our staff celebrate individuality through culturally responsive practices, positive reinforcement, and family partnerships that respect each child’s background and home experiences. Regular communication with families ensures continuity of care and shared goals for each child’s growth.

  • Our infant classroom at Umpqua Wonders Academy provides a warm, nurturing environment where each child's individual needs are met with attentive care and developmentally appropriate activities. Trained caregivers focus on building secure relationships through consistent routines, soothing interactions, and responsive communication to support emotional and physical growth. The space is designed for safety and exploration, with age-appropriate toys, soft play areas, and designated nap zones, while daily reports and regular updates keep families informed and connected to their child's progress. We emphasize sensory learning, language development, and motor skill milestones through gentle play, music, and story time, ensuring a calm, loving beginning to each child's early learning journey.

    Ages 6 weeks - 24 months

  • Our toddler classroom at Umpqua Wonders Academy provides a warm, safe, and engaging environment where children aged 2-3 years explore through play-based learning. Caregivers maintain clear routines, and consistent transitions that help toddlers feel secure. The space is arranged into purposeful learning areas—sensory play, fine motor, language corner, and a dramatic play area—stocked with age-appropriate materials that encourage exploration, social skills, and early problem-solving. Daily schedules balance active play, quiet time, outdoor exploration, and peer to peer connection, while caregivers observe progress and communicate regularly with families to support each child’s developmental milestones and emerging independence.

    Ages 2-3

  • Our full-day preschool classroom at Umpqua Wonders Academy provides a nurturing, structured environment where children engage in hands-on learning across all domains—cognitive, social-emotional, language, and motor skills—through a balanced mix of teacher-led activities, free exploration, outdoor play, and quiet rest time. Caregivers follow developmentally appropriate curricula that emphasize early literacy, math concepts, science discovery, creative arts, and cooperative play while maintaining individualized attention and consistent routines that support self-regulation and independence. Regular communication with families ensures each child’s needs and progress are understood and supported. The classroom is safe, well-equipped with age-appropriate materials, and staffed by trained professionals who foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in every child.

Ages 3-5 (Must be Potty Trained)

  • Our morning only Half Day Preschool Program (8:00–12:00, Monday–Friday) delivers a structured, play-based routine designed to build kindergarten readiness through targeted small-group activities, teacher-guided learning centers, and consistent daily rhythms that reinforce social, emotional, language, and pre-academic skills. Each morning includes intentional literacy and math explorations—such as song-based phonemic play, letter and number recognition games, and hands-on manipulatives—alongside fine motor practice, structured transitions, and cooperative play to promote self-regulation, following multi-step directions, and classroom behavior. Teachers use ongoing observations and simple assessments to individualize supports, introduce early writing and problem-solving tasks, and prepare children for the expectations of a full-day kindergarten environment, while daily routines like circle time, snack, outdoor play, and reflection help children develop independence, punctuality, and confidence.
